Getting it done!

I recently complained to some of you girls..(you know who you are)...about feeling broke, the lack of energy, etc., etc....well that little bitching session was just what a girl needed to get it all done! I went to the shop to find my booth completly wiped out! The anomenes table that I painted was gone, all of the "cottage" signs were gone, and the recent load of stuff I brought had dissapeared too! Looks like the dry spell is over! Even some of us who have been doing what we do for a very long time, have doubts. Usually, all the worry is for nothing! Here is a sampling of goodies I brought to the shop yesterday...

Handpainted wares, freshly ironed linens & pretty teapots.

I have a real thing for apple blossoms. I can't wait for our apple trees to bloom, so I can fill every imaginable vase and container with them! Until then, I'll have to settle for painting them. I found this green shelf at the antique shop...just like it is...all I had to do was paint the blossoms on it! It's rustic & weathered....but that's what gives it charm!

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet...Craftsquad is up and running again! I have been having a ball with this, and have all ready visited some very talented blogs out there, via Craftsquad. Please come over and visit us! We have started, what we hope to be some interesting forums...and would love suggestions for new ideas. Leslie & Yvonne deserve all of the credit!

Have a great weekend, and of course... ~HUGS~

Calling all Collective Souls

Collective Souls....(and anyone else who'd like to take a peek)....Yvonne has received "Believe" and has loaded all of the pictures into Flickr. So go over to the site and take a gander!

It's so exciting, and I can't express how absolutely fabulous it looks! It is just the way I envisioned it to be. And to think this is just the beginning....

and more....

Oh MY! I really don't mean to to be such a showoff...but how can I help myself when there's so much to show.....off??

A package of Birthday goodies sent to me from the very talented Kathleen. I'm so excited...she sent me one of her beautiful pins! I was also excited to receive postcards with her sister's art work on them, and I have been loving her artful arrangement of music she burned! LUCKY, LUCKY me! THANKYOU so much Kathleen! I hope all of that rain in Southern Cali. is not finding it's way into your home!! YOU TOO LESLIE!

I also got a lovely birthday card AND Valentines from Ani! Hope made her own collage valentines this year, and well yes, I received on of those in the mail too. THANK YOU gals!

We are getting a ton of snow (yet again). I have to admit, I'm really over the whole driving in the snow scenario! Yes everything will be pretty when I look out my window over coffe tomorrow morning. The birds will flit about happily at the feeders. My dogs will gleefully run through the snow, purposely dropping their balls so they have to dig for them, barking at me with snowy noses. Yes, how cute. But getting over dressed to scrape the windshield, start the car and shovel the walk, then drive to work in a digusting lane of dirty snow and ice is starting to get REAL old! But I'm a Mainer through and through....how dare I complain? Oh, well I guess I just did!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our Collective Souls Journal has made it to Marieke in Holland! As I'm posting this, I'm guessing she's at the other site trying to figure out how to post pictures of her first page. (I noticed some funky things going on as I was reading the posts). All I can tell you so far is that she made her own paper from milk cartons, go have a looksie...
FYI: When you want to post a picture on Motime, the photo box is in the tool box above (while you're in the control panel) (it's a mountain in a yellow box).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Karen is supposed to be coming home from her trip today....I hope you had a blast girl, can't wait to hear all about it!

I have been painting away, and will hopefully have some pics. up soon! Until then...

LOOK! More FAB b~day presents

This adorable painted box came from the ever sweet Leslie. She handpainted the box and filled it with some chocolate hearts and a "marble cake" scented candle....how yum is that?? Isn't she talented?

And look what Hope made!

I just love this pendant! The other side has artwork as well...but came out blurry in the photo....boo~hoo!  It's amazing how much of a natural she is with collage work!  People who love paper, love it for a reason...even if they're not sure why....they'll eventually find out like Hope did!

Jon's sister, Beth bought me the Kathleen Edwards, "Failer" CD that I wanted. She also threw in Ray Lamontagne which I haven't listened to yet. The only song I know by him is that "TROUUUBBBBLE....TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE....TROUBLE BEEN SOMETHING, SOMETHING SINCE THE DAY I WAS BORN"...."I'VE BEEN SAAAAAAAAVED BY A WOMAN....I'VE BEEN SAAAAAAVED BY A WOMAN....SHE WONT LET ME GO....SHE WONT LET ME GO"

Do any of you know what in the living hell I'm talking about here? Well I just popped in the Cd....so maybe I'll let you know what I think!

I know you all wont believe this, but I actually have 2 more Christmas gifts that I just gave to my 2 best friends, I'll only show you one, because they are so similar. This is the end....I promise.

Apparentley I'm on a Japanese Anemones kick again....or could it be that I just happened to have had lots of that paint color left on my palette? hmmm....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey all you Collective Souls...Amanda is sending the journal off to Marieke tomorrow! YIPPEE! It's starting to feel like somethings happening....you know?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

hey, this Cd is pretty good...a little mellow, but that's what kind of mood I'm in! And I do believe the fella' is from Maine!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday we had a "girl" get together, snowshoing, wine & lots of food gathering. What fun! I brought my camera, but I forgot to put my memory stick in it! CRAP! And let me tell you, it was GORGEOUS out in them there woods. We had almost 12" of snow between Wednesday night & Friday night. It was sunny and in the 30's....Perfect weather. I went with my friend Judy and met 4 other girls...all fun...all crafty in one way or another.
Have you gotten out and enjoyed your friends lately? If not, get to it....it's the BEST of therapy!
Speaking of friends, I'm off to visit and see what all of you have been up to this weekend. Hope and I gabbed on the phone for 2 hours this morning, so I think I'm all caught up with her for the week! hee~hee.
THANKYOU!
Well, I think by now you all know it's my Birthday today! The well wishes posted on some of your blogs, the lovely gifts & emails from you all just warm my heart! Thankyou ever so much!
Yesterday I had a visit from my Dad, Stepmom, Sister, little Gabe & Memere. We had a nice visit...and they even brought a cake which made a fantastic lunch today! hee~hee
My Mom bought my plane ticket, so her and I will be off to Georgia to see my sister Jen, Sam, Heath and new baby Emma! I can't wait to see them all, meet Heath for the first time & hang with the kids! I am also looking forward to some warm weather and maybe a little (really, just a little) shopping!
Jon had bought my Best Girlfriend Judy & I tickets to go see Sarah McLachlin in May...he buys us concert tickets every year! Unfortunately it seems so far away, but we plan on spending the night, so I'll hopefully have an interesting post when the time comes! Speaking of Judy, she has thrown together a little "snowshoing get together" this coming Saturday for all of us birthday girls. I'll be sure to fill you all in!
Take a looksie at what came in the mail today!
hmmm...I know it may be a little hard to see, but surely you can guess who sent this fantastic package of goodies? Thanks Giao...I love it all, and do plan on firing up the neck warmer tonight! I've listened to my CD several times today...and I love it! (we are both fans of the "I Am Sam" soundtrack!) She also sent 2 pairs of cool argyle socks, her special cocoa mix, a pretty handmade card, A BOX OF CHOCOLATES, & a candle! LUCKY, LUCKY me!! LOL...you are the sweetest little Gnome evah!
Oh! And what is this? A secret Journal perhaps?
Last week, I received this early Birthday treat from Dearest Yvonne! I'm not sure if she made the handmade card that came with it, but it's sweet! YES Yvonne, a woman does need her secrets! Thanks so much...you are such a treasured friend!
AGAIN...thanks to all who made my 36th b~day special, with all of your kind words, and gestures!
I've also received some fun snail mail this past week! Our Garlic Girl Dawn sent me some Moose meat recipes! We have a freezer full of moose meat, and though cooking with the burger & sausage is easy to do, I needed some advice on the different cuts of steak I had! She also made a pretty card, which of course made that piece of snail mail even more special! Thanks for taking the time to do that Dawn! LOL!
Hope sent me the "Ready Made" magazine....I had never seen it before, so of course she hopped right on it and sent it out!! She also sent me an enlarged photo of hers that I love! You'll have to go to her site to see it...(it's on her cover page)...but just "FOCUS" and you'll know which one it is! I am going to frame it and save it for the new room! She's also making all of these incredible cards, and some are available at Cafe Press...and of course I'm one of the lucky recpients of her fabulous art work! Thanks Hope...you know I love 'ya!
I have actually managed to get some work done...
I loved the old worn green paint on this table, so I kept it exactly like it was! I painted Japenese Anemones on the top, then hand waxed it! I just love the spindly legs!
Just a little closeup! I truly can't wait for gardening season to begin!
OH...speaking of gardening, a little hint to Dawn...Herbs like well drained soil, so putting some rocks or broken pottery at the bottom of your pot may help! They generally don't like to be over watered and a little organic plant food could go a long way!
**************************************
Our Collective Souls Journal has made it to Amanda's safe and sound! Yippee!! I think she's up for the challenge, and I can't wait to see what creativity she comes up with!! I think we are finally getting somewhat organized, and I will be sending another journal across the pond in a few of weeks! I found some interesting goodies at the flea market to make some of our journals a little more interesting...but no I'm not telling, it will be a surprise! I hope to push some of our creativity to the max! (NO, it wont be hard...just FUN!) I am still thinking up names, and some of you have given me some great ideas...so keep the them coming! I would like to clear something up...we are not doing "themes" for the journals...it was talked about, but I really wanted people to create what they were feeling at the time...so naming our journal doesn't mean we are theming it! You can use the name as a muse if you like! But please don't feel that you HAVE to do anything! And one more thing...our site is for all of us to express our ideas, and ourselves, so please don't be shy!
In other news, I am psyched to be a member of the Craftsquad!! You'll just have to go check it out to see what I'm talking about! LOTS of fun...so don't miss out!! It's also the home of the new Gifty!...so I'd really be going there my friends!!
Well! Golly Gee, I've managed to blather on quite a bit tonight...so much to tell, so little time!
Happy Birthday Dear Mum-z!
Just wanted to wish my Mum-z the BEST OF DAYS today! I have the greatest Mother in law...truly I do! I know how lucky I am...especially after hearing some very interesting stories about Mother in laws....and well, thankfully that's not the case here! She loves us, and takes care of us all! What would we all do without you?
~HUGS~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well hello there Baby Emma!

Isn't she sweet??

***************************************************

I'm a little bummed...I wanted to show you all this cool picture that was sent to me  from Belize, but it wont let me...something about the file not being correct. POOP! Well, I'll still tell you a bit of the story. My Father in law is in Belize visiting his brother and his wife Mary Kay. Mary Kay is an artist, and they sent a very cool pic. of "Art Camp", M.K., my Dad in law & their friend Lindsay holding up wonderful watercolors, sitting at what looks like just the prettiest of settings. Very tanned and relaxed looking. OH! I'm so envious! Painting upstairs in my cramped studio, while cold air blows through my old windows, in bad lighting does little for the imagination!

I think today I'll put on some reggae & wear a hot pink shirt while I work! Maybe I'll make some lemonade....and pluck a little umbrella in it! heehee

*******************************************

Today on our Collective Souls site, I wrote a "Discussion post"...so Collective Souls...go and check it out when you have some time, as there are some real issues we need to work out before I get to work on our next journal!

ALSO...Amanda posted an interesting question the other day on our Collective Souls site, and it's got me thinking! She wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on what to make your "honey" for Valentines day? If you've got ideas, let us know...I'd like to hear them!

LOL!
