new room love

Just a little peek at some of the redos in the new addition!

I skirted this work table that had been in the old shed. I sanded and polied the top SEVERAL times before I got the finish I wanted....but it was worth it! Not only will this make a great little work table, I'll be able to use it as a buffet table when company comes, as we moved our bigger kitchen table set into the new room.

I'm not sure exactly what will go in the top cupboard yet....I was just playing around. You can see some before and after pics here. That's right, I finally jumped on the Flickr band wagon thanks to Cassi. She started this VERY FUN Nifty Thrifty group! It's a must see!

A picture of the back wall....I still need to look for goodies to go on the shelf Jon made me! I's much wider than it looks....and it's so nice to have windows that look out the back! We have all ready had a few folks over for dinner in the new space! The wall above the shelf and ceiling are a pretty putty white...but does not show up so well for some reason.

Collective Souls....I've finally got it together with the Flickr site as well...we'll need to work on uploading all of the pics there soon!

Kathleen has BELIEVE....you've got to go over to our site....she showed how thick the journal was with a ruler! Leslie did such a MAGNIFICENT job on her pages! (c'mon...we all knew she would)! And I think Ani is in possesion of SPRING FLING.

HOLY CRAP....I just looked at the time...have got to get to work!

Winter Harbor Lobster Boat Races

We made it back, safe and sound, raisin brown, salty, damp and full of good memories.

For those of you who didn't know, we took off for a four day adventure with Jon's Dad, Andrew & his lovely Galfriend Jen on Andrew's boat. The main destination of the trip was to motor to The Winter Harbor Lobster Boat Races, but along the way we encountered nature at it's finest, (and not so finest), family, friends & such a sense of adventure that you can only capture every so often!

Tying up with friends at Perry Creek for the night. The "Patricia Gayle" and Jon's Dad's boat "Bear".

Waking up in Winter Harbor to fog. As Keith Smith of the "Just Because" said, "Winter Harbor sunshine!" I had to immediately write it down as it brought a smile to my face!

Lobster boats in the afternoon...ready to race!

Sunset at Devil/Bold Islands. We were tied up with family of the "Caribou"

TRIP HIGHLITES

• After a hot muggy week, sitting on the flybridge Thursday afternoon and finding relief in the cooler sea air.
• Tying up with the "Patricia Gayle" Thursday night at Perry Creek and hanging out with Ben and John. Devouring a delicious meal (spaghetti and meatballs) made by Jon's Dad.
• Having lunch Wednesday afternoon in Somes Sound (Acadia National Park) while tied up with the Smith's of the "Just Because". Munching on lobster sandwiches generously offered to us by the Smiths....who by the way, lobster for a living.
• Hanging out with the Smiths at Winter Harbor and watching all of the cool lobster boats head in the night before the race. Eating some yummy appetizers that Jen and I made over cocktails.
• HAVE I MENTIONED ALL OF THE SOCIALIZING YET?
•  Meeting up with the Berry's of "Caribou" at Bold/Devil Islands. This was a great family get together! We went ashore to a little Island and picked sea lavender, rocks and shells....and basically just hung out. M.K. brought an array of oh-so-delish appetizers on to "Bear". We watched a fabulous sunset. The next morning we picked mussels and dug clams for dinner.
• Watching Dad and Jen dance in the wheel house....quite the groovy couple!
• Getting numerous hugs, kisses and happy content smiles from my Honey through out the trip!

BUMMERS

• The lobster boat races were cancelled due to fog 
• Our old tired backs were not having a good time with the air matress....so we are both stiff as hell today. I don't care...a small price to pay for such a wonderful trip!

pottery....I LOVE IT!

The new room is coming along nicely! We have VERY little left to do as far as the room itself, but I am now starting on decorating projects.

I didn't get a good BEFORE picture of this cupboard....but you can trust me on this, it was quite scary!

The cupboard is the same white as one wall, the ceiling and all of the trim. The green inside of the cupboard is the same as the other 3 walls.

I have been collecting off white pottery planters and vases. I NEED MORE! (hint, hint MOM!) I wanted to fill the cupboard with just the off white pieces, but I found some stuff to fill in until I have enough.

There are some unmarked pieces, but most are McCoy, USA & Haeger. My Mom really did give me most of them, but I splurged and bought the tallest vase when I sold off all of my inventory. It was $22.00 at the Antique Coop....and actually it's dated 1993, but I LOVED IT!

MOM, as you can see I need a few more tall & slim pieces!

I bought an ultra cozy love seat at this crazy type discount place we have here in Maine called Mardens. YOU Maine Gals know what I'm talking about! It's been perfect to lay around and read my new MaryJane Butters book. I think MaryJane would approve of this "Farmgirls" pottery collection!
