I did not mention in my previous post that I have been PAINTING FURNITURE again. Carol is what I would call someone who doesn't give up, and after several phone calls got me to come over and see her place. I was amazed to see several of my pieces in each room of her beautiful home! It could be a gallery for my work!
I have painted 2 pieces for her in the past couple of weeks, and plan on going back soon...though it may have to wait till after the Holidays.
Carol is in love with the color purple. The rooms on the bottom floor of her home are all in shades of purple. That's right....from lilac to a deep, dark rich shade....it's all purple. And it really looks quite lovely!
This sideboard is in her dining room. I painted it white and added some hydrangeas.

I painted lilacs on each door of an armoire/computer stand. I did a base coat of a pretty green, and it went into the room that is a dark plum. It's very pretty up against the wall. It was a dark and dreary day when I tried to take the pictures, so I'm just showing you a closeup.

I will be back soon....have more to post and show! I didn't get to visit any of you this weekend, but will soon....I'm gaining!
Dearest friends, family and readers.....
HAPPY FREAKIN' THANKSGIVING!
hee~hee.
I'm surprised anyone reads this blog anymore, due to my utter lack of writing anything! I have been so busy, that by the end of the day, I'm just too tired to think straight. Sitting on the couch and knitting has been my only real accomplishments at night! I have been getting up extra early each morn....but not to play on the computer....just to get more chores done! I am so hoping for a reprieve this weekend so I can come and visit your blogs!
Here's a few things that I've been up to:
I could keep going...but I wont! I have several good posts, with cool pictures...But just can't seem to find the time for downloading...blah, blah, blah! Like I said, I'll try to hook up with you all over the weekend! I'm working a double today, and a double tomorrow, and will probably be a vegetable the next day...Thanksgiving.
But, I hope you all have a FAB Turkey day...and I'll be around this weekend to read all about it!
Oh how I love this time of year! Raking leaves, drinking apple cider and buying yarn are just a few of my favorite things to do in the fall.
Let's talk yarn.
My Gal pal Judy and I decided to take a little drive and visit some Alpaca Farms last Sunday. It was the Maine Alpacas Open Farm Days last weekend. They have it several times a year, and you should be able to tour many farms in your area in one day. We hit 3 that day. You can find info. about this event at several good sites, I suggest; Maine Alpaca Farms & Maine Fiberarts to get you going.
We cruized Rt. 1 north to Waldoboro, where 2 farms are worth mentioning. The first was a lovely place called Village Farm Alpacas owned by Terry & Bonnie Callery. Terry is the guy you want to talk to if you have a hankering to raise Alpacas. I'm serious....give him a shout....he'll have you talked into it in no time! He has written lots of literature and would be glad to send you whatever you need for info. Their farm is beautiful and they have a small little farm store selling yarns, and Alpaca made wares.
Next we went to New Aim Farm in Waldoboro owned by Al Maloney and Nancy Williams. They are so friendly and helpful...ESPECIALLY when it comes to buying yarn! They have their own fiber mill...how cool is that? Their little store was full of people and she was great about getting to everyone. We bought some SCRUMPTIOUS yarn there in gorgeous colors! I'll show a picture of the yarn another day....I think it's the adorable Alpacas that need showing off today!
These cuties are all from the New Aim Farm....

Have a great weekend....I am off to Rangely Lake with 8 girls for the weekend. Tell you all about it when I get back!
