Have some NEW jewelry to show by the end of the week, in the mean time, I'll make the rounds to all of you wonderful ladies...see you then! xoxoxox

art show display

Hey kids...just posting a few pics from the art show Friday night. I might add to this post tomorrow for "Life's Little Lesson's", but for now I'm going to laze around and watch a movie with Big Daddy, as he's just home from a fishing trip!

Display at "The Art Council" studios Friday night

UPDATE: Hey all...am adding a little more to this post today, I was just so happy to see Big Daddy, I couldn't get off of this thing fast enough. I was going to add to "Life's little Lesson's"...but decided that what I learned this week may be better off kept to myself.

SO...I'll fill you in on the new pieces you see above! I woke up from a dream of leaves and vines...(I'm not kidding), so this is what I felt I needed to create! These marbles are larger, but it's great because you can get a whole sentence in! I hand painted apple blossoms on to vintage paper, then took little quotes from an old Shakespeare book "A Winters Tale", and collaged them & some vintage numbers over the painting. I then created the "frames" around the piece, and added many layers of paint (before and after the baking proccess), finishing them with liquid silver and copper leafs. They take a lot of time, but I am LOVING this! Who would've thought I'd get in to jewelry?? I still have so much to learn!

I would welcome any constructive criticism as I plan on selling them in the shop.

THANKS!

a little lesson

Take time to smell the blooms.

This is not something I learned this week, this is something I've had to learn over time. Today I walked out to the back field with the dogs to cut some apple blossom branches. Another lesson would be that I should keep a garden journal. There is one tree that is in full bloom, yet none of the others are...I can't remember if that always happens or not!

Hope all of you wonderful Mothers had a great Mother's day yesterday!

Indie shopping & more....

I am in love with my new pocketbook I ordered from Salty Gal! It's a pair of men's recycled cargo pants...I got to pick out the pants and the different combinations of ribbon and material! I was also surprised when I was showing it in detail to a friend the other day to see my name stitched inside one of the pockets, like a sweet little surprise! OH...and how could I forget the matching cloth tissue holder???

It's really too much fun! Go visit her shop to see more fabulous finds!

SPEAKING of fabulous finds, you must go see Kellyrae's work...I am in love, I just discovered her like 5 minutes ago, so I have some more investigating to do myself, but I wanted to fill you all in! Go over and say hello! xoxox

I am ultra excited to be in the Downtown Gardiner's Art Walk next weekend! It will be the first time I show my jewelry live and in person! Several artsists from downtown Gardiner open their studio doors for a Friday night art walk. I get to be in a friend of a friend's studio....I'll of course take pictures and fill you all in! I want to show you my friend Sarah's work, along with her friend's that owns the studio. (I hear she's wonderful!) It's a last minute thing, so you know I'll be holed up in the studio for the week! I have some new ideas for the jewelry that I'm dying to try!

We have had rain, rain and more rain this past week...but it's worth it! You would not believe how lush my perennial garden is looking, and the lawn and back fields....beautiful greens everywhere I look! It makes me want to pull out my oils and start duplicating those greens! (have I ever told you that green is my favorite color?) Anyhoo....I went bonkers buying shrubs and plants last weekend, but have not a chance to plant them, HOPEFULLY Monday will be the drying out day!

OH...and before I go, DEAR friends, thanks for the "we like you" comments left from the last post! HONESTLY, BELIEVE me...It truly doesn't bother me...it just always strikes me as bizzarre, because I am usually most friendly to everyone, but I've been around the block a few times to know that sometimes people just don't jive, they rub eachother the wrong way....TRULY....I could really give a crap, I have wonderful friends and family everywhere I look, and it's enough for me!! I like myself just fine, and isn't that all that matters?

You all are really just the coolest!

Oh...and you all totally rock.

Every day my world feels more and more complete.

I have recently been getting kind comments from two EXTRTEMELY talented artists, one who's work I have been admiring for a while now and the other who I only just realized it's her work I've been ogling in a recent publication!

First there's Sarah from Rustic Relics who makes the most fabulous pendants that are all her own. I love her pendants for many reasons, they're beautiful, DIFFERENT, vivid and they make me smile! She does so much more than jewelry though, like her prayer lamps. Each lamp is a beatiful piece of art...go see. Say hello, tell her she's wonderful.

I am saving my pennies for one of these.....

Sarah's Spring/Summer collection of handmade pendants

She is just starting a group

Something to make you think about each day as it goes by.

Now...lets talk about Misty. Late last night I linked over to her site and fell in love with the newest teapot she made. I have always had a love affair with pottery, new or old, and have always had a high respect for anyone who works in this medium. I was tired, and decided to add her to my favorites, so I could really look at her art and web site, and give her pottery a mention today.

Well imagine my surprise when I discovered that she was the ARTIST Misty Mawn who's article I have been loving in Summer's 2006 Cloth Paper Scissors issue. Seriously, it's my favorire article in the magazine, it's dog eared, wine stained and wrinkled, and I was just rereading it yesterday morning! Her collages overall are soothing and appealing to the eye and each layer speaks to me. And she's telling me I'm talented?? THANKS for making my day Misty!

I am definetly linking these 2 gals so I can find inspiration in just a click away!

We are finally having beautiful weather, so as I mentioned to friend Patricia this morning, I think I'll go play in the dirt for a while before I lock myself up in the studio today! Next in the studio.....bracelets.

what's this you ask?

That banner is actually the one I'm going to use for my shop...soon, soon I promise!! I just thought it would be fun to throw it up on Sweetpeas until the shop is up and running!

I am up early this morning waiting for Hope to call me, as we are going to go over some stuff for the site. This is all very exciting! I will be having a Grand Opening contest...so please keep watching!

Other than jewelry I will be making handpainted wares & treasures made from recycled junque. (hmmmm....yes I did spell that with a que).  I will also have an "ESTATE SALE" and "TAG SALE" section.

In the meantime, you HAVE to check out talented Kristen's journal and shop. She makes the most amazing jewelry...and I am in love with her work! Some of my blogging friends spoke highly of her, so I went to snoop and I was just so amazed at the loveliness!!! Where on earth have I been?
