Junque Revival News

I've been working on a new batch of Look Closely pendants. I've changed the look just a bit, making them slightly wider, and flatter, gaining more collage room. I've also played around with a few new ideas. I've had several emails from gals wanting to know when I'd be making more, so I thought it was high time I got to it! I am a person who likes to constantly evolve when I create and find it hard to be repetitive, so I had fun playing around with the old design.

I'll be putting them in the shop this weekend.

breathe ~ a custom order for Angie S.

Most of the papers that I used came from an old Shakespeare book, a 1940's "True Story" magazine, and a French Canadian lesson book.

I've been messing around with some funky beaded necklaces with handmade pendants again...hopefully those will be done by Sunday night.

We are heading down the old country road to Jon's sister's for some good old fashion Maine lobster (lobstah), corn on the cob and maybe a little wine.

Catch up with you cuties later!

Fresh Chanterelles

mmmmmm...mmm...mmmm

What a treat! A friend (who is a chef) dropped over some fresh picked chanterelles the other day, and gave me a loose recipe for them.

I pan fried (whole) fresh sage from my garden until crisp. I put in a good hunk of butter, then I threw in the mushrooms and sauteed them with some chopped garlic. I added white wine to the mix and let that reduce down some. I then added some light cream and let that cook down just a hair. (OK...I admit it...I threw in a little more butter at this point). I tossed some cooked angel hair into the sauce mix and topped it off with parmegano. Right before serving I topped each plate with some thinly sliced salami.

magnifico!

rainy sunday post....

hmmmm....we have been so busy....I'm talking crazy busy, and suddenly I am finding myself sitting here in my PJ's on a rainy Sunday with nothing to do but MAKE JEWELRY and write a post! The problem is...the past weeks have been such a jumble of activity....trying to put together anything decent seems impossible!

SO.....

Let me just say, HELLO dear bloggy friends...I've missed you this summer, and though I have not been commenting much I do try to make it over and catch up with you! Some of you I owe letters to, and do not want to rush my responses, just for the mere sake of replying!

ALSO...being new to the whole website thing I deleted my home page over at Junque Revival....and did not realize that if any of you had that book marked you would come up to "page not found"...though you can still surf the site and buy, I think it might turn people off! City maker charges $50.00 to restore the page, and, well...I'm not buying! So Please rebook mark if you have the time...or just know that I am still there!

I have several new designs that I have been sketching out, and am excited to get on it, so I'll leave you with some camp pictures from last weekend! We went up with couples Jon & Deb, and Jolene & Mike. Jo and I have been friends for what seems like forever now, and I was happy to get to know Deb a little better....we had a blast...I love you guys! xoxox

You can see more of these pictures here!

fabulous trade!

Call me lucky....that's right...go ahead!

Lovely Maria from Sweden and I did a trade recently. She made me one of her beautiful hand felted, hand beaded...and just plain ole' hand made bracelets! I just love the colors and the tiny little details at the clasp! Pretty ribbon and beads are twisted in and out of the felt beads, making the whole piece very textural!

I really have to mention the YUMMY blueberry and white chocolates she sent me...(long gone by myself and Big Daddy) and some loose tea that I've yet to try, and am saving to have with Judy.

THANKS Maria ~ I love it!

New goodies in the shop!

Crazy Mary

Mermaid

Day Dream

Sweet Jane

hmmm....I think a few things are pretty obvious here. 1) I've been to the flea market and have found some JUNQUEY relics to work with. 2) I've been heavy into the tunes lately. 3) I've been bead shopping!

So who's been artsy lately??? COMMENT about it and give us some links to find your journal and/or shop!

~xoxoxxo~

Oops...I just finished this up tonight, so I'm sneaking it in....

Solstice

It's an old slide lock....paired up with leopard skin stones and contemporary art glass.

Just thought I'd share some camp photos from a couple of weekends ago. Judy and I kayaked two of the days. On the rainy Sunday we made jewelry and gazed out at the ever changing view of Mountain. We shopped one afternoon in Rangeley and found some great little deals. The boys got some fishing in, and a little mowing of the lawn.  It was just wonderfully peaceful and relaxing! Can't wait to take some friends up next weekend again!

Have a great weekend!
