Everything has turned GREEN! I believe only folks who live through snow filled winters can relate to the pure joy of seeing green. Our fields are green, we have green buds on the trees and there are some splashes of yellow throughout as well. When I open my front door to a morning like this morning, I feel as though my senses may explode! Birds are singing, wildlife is all about, everything is dewy, and there is a lite mist lifting.
As an artsist, the changing of seasons has always been one of my motivators to produce art. Fall is my favorite energizer. It really is a pure energy boost for me. In the spring, I am extremely creative as well, but it seems to be a slower more thoughtful proccess. I could sit on my deck with a cup of coffee for an hour in the morning, thinking and pondering. I simply open the door to let the dogs out, and I catch myself gazing at my garden or across the street to another field. How long was I standing there for? (I'm sure my Lab could fill you in on that, as she's been patiently staring at me with that dirty old tennis ball in her mouth!)
This is the time of year that I will write down a lot of ideas in my journal but may not carry through with them until fall. Do you do this?
I'd be curious to know how the seasons effect you as an artist. If you have written a post on this subject, or plan on doing so, leave us a comment with the link to your post. I'll be over to visit, and plan on saving my favorite posts for a future project with Studio Works.
Studio Works is a brand new blog that I've slowly been working on to simply create a gathering spot for woman artists. It will be a home where you will find thought provoking posts on art and how we work into our everyday lives. I would also like to talk about studio spaces. I am hoping to have tutorials, contests and helpful information on turning your art into a business. We will have a calender for local shows and classes as well. I have been gathering information and ideas for months, and many of the ideas have come directly from some of your favorite bloggers.
I am still looking for ideas, suggestions on subjects, and am still looking for a few artists who would like to write a once a month post. We will also be looking for guest writers. Please feel free to write me with ANY ideas you may have or if you think you'd like to become one of our in-house writers.
