She Dreams of Art

She Dreams of Art has a new home at Indie Public!

My exciting news! I've teamed up with Casie from Indie Public for my monthly column.
Some of you may remember that I used to have this column at Mindy's wonderful  Wishstudio Blogzine. This doesn't mean you still wont find me there though!! I plan on submitting articles to Mindy's site as well. Mindy is relaunching her site soon, with a fresh new look....so please stay tuned! I just wanted to take SDOA to new heights, and Indie Public was the perfect match.

Indie Public is a wonderful on-line indie artist's community with over 12,000 members to date. You can create your own page, write a blog, join in on the forums and showcase your lovely handmade wares.

On the first Sunday of each month, I will publish an article featuring 4 artists. The first article is up now, and we've kicked it off with words of wisdom from the ever-so-talented Susan Tuttle! Hope you'll drop by and say hello! We've decided to add it to the forums, so hopefully the articles will open up discussions!

If you'd like to be considered for June's article then you can contact me here.

June's article will be "The Very Green Artist." Article will be based on recycling everyday "throwable" items into art. Here are a few ideas you can write about:

* How long have you been making green art and when and why did you start
* Did you grow up with a green family, or is this something you have taught yourself to do?
* Where do you find your recycables that you plan on turning into art?
* How did you or do you come up with your ideas?
* Why is it important for you to continue on this artictic path with green art?
* How do you feel the community has taken to your art

REMEMBER, these are just ideas to get you started, please write what's in your heart!

celebrating Spring!

New pieces for Spring and Mother's Day!

THE VISION
Can you believe that I actually kept a brooch, A BROOCH??!! For once I let it be, and did not drill holes in it and hang it on a chain! Brooches are wonderful for hats, scarfs, a ribbon around your neck, or anything that you want to decorate for the day!
The Vision

SPRING FLIGHT
I love anything with birds on it, especially in Spring!

FAY
Spring always evokes images of my garden-to-be, fairytales, butterflies and warmth from the sun.....

I have some exciting news, that I'm dying to tell you about, but am waiting to wrap everything up. Basically if you are not a member of Indie Public, then get your buns over there and become one! More on that later, but head over and set yourself up!

xoxo

butterflies, birds and flowers......

Spring is in the air finally! We've been taking advantage of the warmer weather by cleaning up around the outside of this house. Due to the winter storms we had here in Maine, we had lost a lot of branches and even a couple of tree tops around the house. It's presented itself as being a huge clean-up project, so we've been trying to work on it as much as possible.

That doesn't mean I haven't snuck into the studio here and there!
