art, music & friends

This may be the last time you hear from me this week as there is still lots to do before Hope and Dawn get here on Friday! We have got a lot planned for just a few days, and I believe most of it will compile of shopping, photo taking, lobster, chatting & giggling, flea marketing, beer, and artsy stuff.

I know how to entertain.

Getting on to what's been going on, I'll start you off with a FAB IDEA this sweet gal has. She still has a few spots left, so HURRY! Mindy is hosting a fun take on a CD swap, but with a twist! I am so blown away by the idea...it's going to be wonderful...check it out!

I have been making more pendants for the shop, and I can't tell you how much fun I've been having! Being in the antique business for 20 years has provided me with many interesting items to use in my art over the years. I am thrilled that I can still find ways to use some of the few things I had kept. I have boxes and boxes of broken pottery & china that I have collected over the years. I think this has happened to anyone who is a big thrift shopper...you are at a lawn sale, and you spot a box of fabulous dinner ware...in your excitement, you grab the box of goods before anyone else can. When you get home and start insepecting your pieces, you notice cracks and chips on some of them! Well if you're like me, you think...."I'll do something with these one day", and throw them in a box, only to be stashed in a closet someplace. I have created some mosaic pieces over the years, but that has not made a dent in my collection. So I've tried to incorporate my new found love of jewelry making with some old time pieces.....hope you like!

This was made for Leslie's birthday!

Please note...all designs are original ideas & much time & energy has been spent  to come up with something unique & one of a kind.

Do not steal or copy, karma will get you!

(I really hate to write this, but I've been hearing some horror stories as of late!)

I love how you make your pendants, such an interesting idea. I wish you could reveal your medium becasue I am not really getting what they are made from. Art clay? I too have so many pices of broken china I use for mosaics, but this idea is very clever! Don't worry, I saw your note about copying, I just love your idea! Have fun with your visitors! Are they blog friends you've met just from blogging?
