Father's day and Lobster boats

First I want to say Happy BELATED Father's day to my Super Sweet Dad!!!! I wanted to post it yesterday....but was laid up in bed sick all day! What a bummer....finally nice weather, and I'm watching Jon through the window doing yard work & playing with the dogs...BAH! (YES Dad....OF COURSE Jon took good care of me...he babies me just like you used to do when I was sick!)

And I want to thank you again for coming over and helping us put that vanity top in...Jon kept saying over and over again how lucky he was you came to the rescue!! We appreciate all of the little things you do!

Hmmmm....A special memory for Father's Day....There are so many that pop in to my head!! One would be teaching me how to play softball, riding my new bike you bought me, and OH...teaching me how to skateboard!

Reading to us until YOU fell asleep....hehehe...

I wont say a word about the peas.....

GOING CAMPING!!!

Buying me a dirt bike...HUH?

Making breakfast for us on the weekends...even when I came to live with you in my early 20's...you still did this!! (Jon does it too!)

I remember going to the mall every Friday night when we were young teens. This BIG HUGE Bully girl started to shove me around, so I made a fist, closed my eyes and popped her right in the nose...down to the ground she went...blood and all! I was the hero for about all of 2 hours....but my thumb was swollen, blue and in serious pain! You came to pick us girls up that night, and I can only imagine what you were thinking as a bunch of girls started screaming to you this crazy story!! You very calmly taught all of girls in the car, at that very minute, how to hold your hand and thumb to throw a proper punch!! (They thought you were so cool and couldn't believe you weren't mad!)

anyhoo....

Hope you had a good day, and will see you next week over at your place!!

Saturday, Jon and I took our little boat to the Boothbay Harbor Lobster Boat races. We are lobster Boat fans....just like his Dad...(HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ANDREW!!) or BECAUSE of his Dad really. It was a beautiful day...you can see some more shots here.

a very fine boat.

how cool is this jelly fish? They were all around the boat.

Have a great week...I'm finishing up on some new pieces today, can't wait to show you!

A-MAZING photo of the jellyfish. I love Boothbay (where we spent our honeymoon) but discovered more of Maine this past weekend: Deer Isle, Acadaia, Castine-- all so lovely

Oh, nice... you had to go and show me up with the sentimental Dad post (b/c we know how sentimental he's getting in his "old" age...) I was hungover and dead to the world till about noon on Sunday, then managed to carry out his shop vac... with NO card, and ran back in to pop some more excedrin and sleep more. I tried to redeem myself by taking him to Tortilla Flats for supper... but I'm afraid I blew it this year. I'm glad you were more coherent than me!

Great shot of the jellyfish!

And sweet tribute to your dad -- the proper "fist" to fight is a great story! :)

You've got to love a dad who'll teach you how to throw a punch...comes in handy when dealing with the bullies in life! That shot of the jellyfish is out of this world and my first thought was George Lucas/Star Wars...go figure! And...how wonderful to see the photos of your visit with Hope and Dawn and to see you "for real".
Your fan, Barb

That's such a great story about your dad telling you how to make a proper fist for a punch. Too funny! :)

Guess eating all your peas left a memorable experiance.."Sweetpea".
Sticking up for yourself was one of those lifetime moments that help shape who you are. "only the guys at work found out how proud i was (am) of you". Can't have you thinking its okay to hit someone(standard parent line).3 daughters, all extremely talented. Some guys just end up being lucky in life.(me)
Thanks Jess for being my little girl. Love Dad
