fab folk and junking it up......

Oh~me~oh~my...I can't seem to get enough of the fab, groovy, organized, disorganized, inspiring and beautiful photos that are being posted at Studio Works. Because of Studio Works, I am able to find some incredible artists to drool over!

I'm also finding that there are a lot of junkers like myself!

THIS girl is someone to go see. Her blog is filled with beautiful vintage finds, and yummy handmade wares.

Here's a picture she posted at Studio Works.

YEAH...I think you get the picture.

Speaking of fabulous folk....dearest Kathleen, I loved our super long phone chat today! It brightened my day! xoxox

Speaking of studio talk, I've been filling up on vintage goodies to make more jewels with. I stopped in at one of my favorite antique co-ops and walked out with 2 bags filled with great JUNK. I thought about posting a picture...but then it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see what I come up with...so we'll just keep it a secret for now. I will tell you I got a big lot of vintage magazines for $10.00 (some of seriously need to join "collage whores anonymous"!!) I bought old books, utensils, junk jewelry...and some not so junky jewlery. I'm really excited about the "not so junky jewelry pieces"....I think I can make some cool stuff from them.

I used to be in this co-op back in the antique/painted furniture days, and I have to tell you I felt that old antique fever strike. I loved setting up my booth, and playing with pretty vintage finds! I just have to remind myself that putting everything into perspective, and keeping the art on a smaller level has been wonderfully fullfilling...(and easier on the back too).

Well...that's about it here today gang, SIL Beth and her man are on there way for a little Saturday evening happy hour. Cath up with you soon, Peace out.....

I am enjoying the StudioWorks flickr group also. It's so nice to be in the same 'room' with so many like- minded women.
I just posted a story on our Etsy forum about a guy who found a copy of the Declaration of Independence at a local Nashville thriftstore. He paid under $3.00 for it and it's supposedly worth 1/4 mill. Moral of the story: I am not spending enough time these days junkin'.

Studio Works is a great group and while I haven't posted any photos myself, I have sat and drooled over other people's!

I have this secret narrow passageway in our house through the closet of my office, to the studio... It's become a wrapping station for orders fromt the shop. Where I hang my ribbon, tissue, store my beads... I'm trying to make it super funky in there with wallpaper and lanterns. I'll try and take a photo of it and add it to studio works, when it's all done. It's such a fun concept, getting to see where other people create. :)
