Back from NYC! WOW, what a fun-filled weekend!
Saturday night Tom, Dawn and myself met Lea and Pasi at their hotel, stopped off for a drink and exchanged gifts. We all quickly hit it off! Pasi and Lea are delightful, down to earth folks, and I miss them all ready. Tom and Pasi acted like a couple of old college buddies for the entire night, and Dawn and I were a bit silly at times, but I don't think we frightened Lea too badly. Lea is as wonderful in real life as she is on her blog. So sweet, pretty, gracious and very smart. Such a doll!
As I said, we exchanged gifts first. Lea spoiled Dawn and I rotten, filling a goody bag for each of us with treats from Finland, and best of all some of her jewelry! She gave me a pair of earrings, and this gorgeous bracelet.

After we exchanged gifts we headed over to this very cool restaurant called Fig and Olive. This was the perfect place to spend a few hours and get to know eachother properly. The menu is filled to the brim with yummy tappas, wine, coffees and desserts. We ordered round after round of fabulous "share" type platters and a few bottles of wine. I've always been a big believer in the power of food to bring people together, and Fig and Olive worked it's majic on us.
Fat and happy at Fig and Olive

The only thing that is missing is the prescence of my Big Daddy. he would have adored Lea and dug Pasi! NEXT TIME!
From there, it was time to bar hop, and that's exactly what we did. Things got a bit comical and silly....dancing, talking and just plain ole socializing. It was all WAY too much fun! At one bar/club Dawn decided to take three flowers from a huge arrangement, and insisted we wear them in out hair. The poor bartenders didn't say a word, as I'm assuming they knew their wasn't a thing they could do about it. At this same place they had a little pool downstairs, filled with plastic balls. This seemed to fascinate all of us to know end, especially Dawn, who kept picking them up and throwing them back into the pool.
Crazy kids!

The night ended much too quickly. I truly miss our new friends, but I'm confident that we will all meet again one day. Maybe in Finland?
On Sunday, Dawn and I met dear Mary in Brooklyn for some good old fashion shopping. I wont bore you with the details, but I can tell you that we were dragging a bit after our fun filled night. Dawn and I were treated to a wonderful home cooked meal by Tom when we got home. Just what we needed to come down and back to earth.
Until next time, HUGS & KISSES to the four of you!
